[Times] – 28 May 2021 – First Capital Bank (FCB) has assured customers that its WhatsApp Banking platform is safe and secure.

The bank recently introduced a platform that allows customers to access banking services through WhatsApp.

FCB Head of Digital Transformation and Ecosystems Ewen Hiwa said customers should trust both WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption and the bank’s two-factor authentication at both log in and at transaction level to enhance security.

“For example, you cannot complete a transfer to someone unless you enter a one-time password. We are able to do this on the back of a solid and world class core banking system.

“Our technology is so advanced in its architecture allowing us to be nimble in the solutions we bring. We have invested heavily in the systems and people to position ourselves for the future,” Hiwa said
